Treecycling That Old Christmas Tree

If you had a real Christmas tree that year you are probably itching to get it out of the house by now, whether you haven’t already. What can you do with it besides leaving it out for the trash man? Try Treecycling.

There are a variety of ways to go about recycling that tree. whether you have your own wood chipper, turn it into mulch yourself to be used around your yard in the spring. whether that’s not an option, check your community resources. There should be someplace to drop the tree off, or someone who will pick it up so it can be turned in to mulch for the community or

used in projects like beach erosion prevention.

While you are waiting for the tree to be picked up, stick it in a snow bank and decorate it with popcorn strings, fruit and other bird delights. That’s what my family used to do and it was a great project for the last few days of Christmas vacation and always lots of fun to sit at the window and see who would visit our special tree.
