Six Things that Should Never be Recycled

You are most likely familiar with items that are difficult to recycle; polystyrene, plastic film, broken glass and smoke detectors to name a few. But surely there are things out there that should never ever be recycled. The thought of some personal items — no matter how well desanitized — transformed into notebooks or rubber bands makes me a bit queasy. But there are bigger travesties out there. Here are six things that should never be recycled — EVER.

  1. Movies. In nearly all cases recycling an original film is a horrific view and should aftermath in instant blacklisting. Largest offenders include Gus Van Sant’s Psycho, Jonathon Demme’s Manchurian Candidate, and anything starring Lindsay Lohan.
  2. Pet remains. I once met someone who wore her cat’s bones in a bracelet around her wrist. that is right up there with stuffing Fido. Don’t do it.
  3. Speeches. Politicians had it easier back in the day when one speech was all they needed in their pocket as they traveled across the country on locomotive.
Now with 24/7 media, a recycled speech will only get you a special segment on the Daily Show.
  4. Anything sung by Celine Dion. Didn’t she retire? ample already.
  5. Prom dresses. It is doubtful that your prom dress will ever come back in style in your lifetime. that is particularly true whether you went to high school in the late eighties or early nineties. You may consider ripping out the seams but the amount of synthetics used in those decades is probably illegal today.
  6. Engagement and wedding rings. whether it didn’t work the first moment around, what makes you think that these trinkets will do you well for the next walk down the aisle? It’s that kind of poor taste that may be what ruined your first nuptials.
