Try to make your green living space as environmentally friendly as possible. Besides using alternative energy sources, you can use furniture made from recycled materials, countertops made of natural stone; carpets, rugs, curtains and bedding made from natural fibers. There are even paints made today that are environmentally friendly. Always, before you buy something, stop and decide if you can build it or make it yourself. If you can, it’s usually worth it to do so.

I love the additional R for “re-think.” It’s so true! What gets me is when family members gift me with Cheap Plastic Crap, knowing full well how I feel about the stuff! Are they re-thinking or acting on auto-pilot when they go to the stores?

this is a GREAT show. The concept of going green which Emeril has decided to embark upon has been a very prompting change for this nation! I like how Emeril has an average every day home-body on his show to encourage going to local farmer’s markets and buying local as well as seasonal foods. I had the chance to see emeril legasse when I was fortunate enough to get tickets to Good Morning America and he just happened to be on the show that day. As an aspiring cook I am also trying to do my part just as Emeril is by going green especially with cooking healthfully and supporting the safe organically grown produce. I would very much love cook next to Emeril’s side on this show! I have a great eole recipe that would work on a wrap for an easy lunch.

I vow to not use another plastic baggie! With kids and packing endless snacks and lunches it can be a challenge, but I have invested in reusable products that make this process easier on me and the planet.
