Champagne is not the most green of beverages but New Year’s Eve is one of those champagne kinda nights. So what do you do?

Shell out the big bucks for some organic champagne or look for a naturally produced or organic sparkling wine. Why not just organic? Just like some farmers, some wine producers do everything organically but don’t want to spend the money (or do the paperwork) to be certified organic.

If you have a nice wine store locally, start there and ask for some recommendations. A good wine merchant will know whether a wine

has been produced with organic practices but doesn’t have an organic label. A good place to get ideas would be this MSN article with a variety of recommendations.

If you still can’t find what you want, look for a locally produced sparkling wine. It will at least cut down on the miles your bubbly has traveled.
