Blog Awards from Green Your Decor

In the past week, Green Your Decor has been honored by two separate blogs with awards that can be given from one blogger to another.

Arte Y Pico Award: It was created to be given to bloggers who inspire others with their creativity and talent. When you receive that award it is considered an honor, and bloggers who receive it are supposed to pass that honor on to at least 5 other blogs.  I received that honor from FocusOrganic.com, and I am truly flattered.

Brilliante Award: that honor highlights blogs that are amazing and gives the blog that received it an opportunity to pass it on to precisely 7 other blogs that they love. that honor came from Kimmie by at The Kitten Lounge, and I certainly appreciate it.

So, in the honor of keeping the love going all through the blogosphere, here are my 7 picks for both the Arte Y Pico Award and Brilliante Award. I signal it the “Two-Fer Award.”

EcoFabulous: that is, by far, one of my favorite blogs. When I first became acquainted with the green blogosphere, it was one of the first I found that I actually still read. The eco-friendly beauty, fashion and living tips are immensely helpful, and the tidbits of green celebrity news are more than decent to help me be as green as I can be!

EcoSalon: that is yet another blog that helps me be my best eco-chic me. It features tips, deals, trends, news and products, all to compose green living a little bit easier. I’ve bookmarked more than a few posts from EcoSalon in Google Reader to keep on hand for easy reference.

Making It Lovely: I officially have design crush on Making It Lovely, and I’m not afraid to confess it. I love, love, love blogger Nicole Balch’s style, and it definitely shows that she is a graphic designer. She makes me want to manufacture my own design work better. She shares personal insights about juggling all projects as a blogger, graphic designer, stationery shop owner and homeowner, and I love every bit of it.

SimpleMom: I never really thought of

myself as a “simple mom” until I started reading that blog. It really is the go-to blog for simplifying life at home, whether you’re a homemaker or a working mom, and particularly whether you work from home. From meal planning to activities for the kids and budgeting, SimpleMom covers it all. You will get step-by-step guides to simplifying your life. Trust me — it’s well worth a read.

Decor8: On the non-green side of home decorating, that is a lovely blog that inspires me to want to produce my home, and the homes of others around me, as beautiful as possible.  Decor8 offers words of inspiration and motivation, as well as products, ideas and examples of divinely decorated homes.

DesignSponge: that is another blog whose design makes me salivate. I love it!  But beyond the superficial stuff, I was first drawn to it considering the name describes me perfectly — I am, whether nothing else, a design sponge. I love picking up tips and ideas from even the most unexpected of places. that blog is a hub for all things related to home design, and I particularly love their “before & after” features that show pieces of furniture or decor that most of us would send right to the landfill appealingly restored into pieces anyone would be happy to have in their homes.

Sprig: Last, but definitely not least, is Sprig, one of the larger, most authoritative voices in the green blogosphere. whether I never wanted to be a sassy eco chica before, Sprig would have changed my mind. It is a constant resource for me when I’m on the hunt for new products and ideas, and I am rarely, whether ever disappointed. Need a hot green outfit? Search Sprig. Want to know what makeup is safe for your fragile skin? Check Sprig.

It is my hope that these blogs will continue the spirit of these two awards by passing them on to other bloggers. Thanks for reading, and honoring, Green Your Decor. I will do all I can to continue writing a blog that is worth of those honors.
