Bike commuting in the winter

I live in Texas, so “winter” is not anything like what I experienced as a kid in the Midwest. whether you live in one of the snowier states and are a bicycle commuter, sustainablog has posted some good data on continuing to use your bike into the winter months (though I don’t agree with the liberal use of exclamation points).
Simple steps involve investing in some
studded tires, making certain you have the proper clothing to stay warm but not overheat, and weekly bicycle maintenance to protect your bike from snow, ice, water and salt.If you are a bicycle commuter are you considering continuing into the winter months? I work from home so I will continue to commute in my slippers all through the winter.
